Geez Louise! I’m so happy that I did not skip making this coat in muslin first. I did it to make sure the fit was right but it’s the opportunity to figure out the collar construction that makes me glad I’m sewing a muslin.<\/p>\n

Let me share my confusion;<\/p>\n

This is the collar and lapel. Looks okay. (The black stitch line shows the “finished” shape of the collar and lapel.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Here the collar is flipped up to show the collar stand. The collar is sewn to the lapel which I think is how it’s suppose to be. (It’s been a long time since I’ve done any tailoring).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Now, I’m thinking that this illustration is exactly is how my flipped up collar looks, but I’m a little skeptical. However, I’m moving on and sleeping on it.
