I never need a reason to eat chocolate but now I know there are a few good reasons, other than tastiness, to indulge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chocolate has been shown to release dopamine in your brain. Dopamine is a chemical in your brain which has been linked to motivation. Dopamine motivates you to act.<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate boost levels of the calming neurotransmitter serotonin and contains small amounts of phenylethylamine, a stimulant.<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate has a mild anti-depressant effect but careful, over consumption can lead to paranoia and social withdrawal (which may explain a few things).<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate tastes good. (Note: White chocolate is recommended over dark and milk chocolate for containing more of these mood enhancing compounds.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other activities increase dopamine levels as well including reaching your goals, even small goals So today when I finish this post I&#8217;m grabbing the car keys and getting some chocolate.
